On 17 November, Year 7 went out to High Ashurst on the annual Team Building Day. This is something we do every year, but usually a little earlier in the term. It was a slightly chillier than usual, but an otherwise dry autumn day to bring Year 7 to Box Hill for a day of fun and challenge. Pupils were divided into smaller groups and split over two main activities: a Challenge Course and a Climbing Wall.
The purpose of the day was to work together and develop their own confidence as well as extend their circle of friends within the Year Group and work together as a team. It was a pleasure to watch pupils listening to and encouraging each other in every activity. Their problem solving skills were very impressive on the Challenge Course – where they had to work out ways to get their team across an obstacle course without losing anyone. On the Climbing Wall, each pupil took a turn in climbing to the top of the wall, or as far up as they felt able to go. Again, the support and encouragement they gave each other was really pleasing to see.
