Headmistress’s assembly

This week the Headmistress’s assembly invited girls to reflect on the death of George Floyd and the response across the world. She drew upon contemporary and historical voices who have spoken out against racial injustice and said ‘I encourage you to be people who respond with heart, soul and mind: to read about what is happening and what has gone before it; support those around you and show your unity with the cause. Offer your prayers for those who grieve, for all of us to have the honesty to root out any discrimination in ourselves and our society, and for a better world.’

St Catherine’s School does not condone or tolerate racism, discrimination or hatred of any kind and is committed to combating prejudice in all its forms.
