YOUNG REPORTER – NATIVITY ROCK

BY ALBA, YEAR 3

The youngest children at St Catherine’s performed their Nativity play on Monday 2 December, for parents and staff. The Early Years and Key Stage 1 performed to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Mrs Marsh, the Head of Prep, said, “It was lovely to hear the true message of Christmas”. The parents were amazed. The children were not shy and quiet. They were really brave and strong. Even the younger children had lines. The music teacher, Mrs Graham, said, “They sang like angels”. It was joyful to watch. The parents felt like they were actually in the past when it really happened. The narrators were excellent, too.

They sang Away in a Manger and other Christmas songs. First the angel came to Mary. It was called the Annunciation. Then they told the story of when Mary tells Joseph that they will have a baby. They go to Bethlehem and none of the inns are free so they go to the stable. Jesus is born. They get the gold, frankincense, and myrrh from the Wise Men. They acted it out so well. It was a wonderful performance.

Amna is Mary, Abigail is Joseph, and Sophie is the Angel.
